Description

Fit: Thanks to the flexible panels, Sommer saddles adapt very well to any back shape. The saddle can also be adjusted via the padding and 10 chambers in the gullet. The gullet is built U-shaped as standard but can also be shaped differently. Due to its extremely good adaptability to all horses, it is also suitable for horses that are still growing/developing.

The expert

Why the right fit is everything.

„A saddle can be the finest piece of leather craftsmanship, if it doesn’t fit, it does nothing for horse or rider."
  • Horse health

A poorly fitting saddle causes pressure points, blocks movement and leads to long-term back and muscle damage.

  • Rider balance

The right fit supports a balanced seat, relaxed hips and a free pelvis. This makes fine, precise aids possible.

  • Real harmony

A well-fitting saddle promotes the well-being of horse and rider, for relaxed, balanced and harmonious riding.

Anatomy & fit

What a well-fitting saddle does for your horse.

A poor saddle fit blocks the shoulder muscles, prevents the back muscles from developing and leads to chronic tension. The right saddle reverses this spiral, the horse can move freely, build muscle healthily and move without pain.

With a poorly fitting saddle

Poorly muscled horse

Pressure points and the wrong gullet width block shoulder freedom, prevent muscle development and lead to chronic tension, movement problems and injuries.

  • Underdeveloped musculature
  • Unfavourable saddle position
  • Restricted freedom of movement
  • Increased risk of injury
With a well-fitting saddle

Normally muscled horse

A well-fitting saddle lets the shoulder muscles work freely, allows the back muscles to develop and ensures pain-free movement, the foundation for healthy riding.

  • Harmonious topline
  • Well-defined musculature
  • Balanced saddle position
  • Optimal freedom of movement

What our customers say.
