    Am Sattelkopf wird der Unterschied zu einem Sattel mit Kopfeisen auf den ersten Blick deutlich: Er ist sehr weit zurückgeschnitten, da ein konventionelles Kopfeisen fehlt. Das aus Stabilitätsgründen vorhandene Brückeneisen befindet sich unmittelbar vor dem Sitz des Reiters und kann an dieser Position keinen Druck auf den Widerrist oder das Schulterblatt ausüben. Die Flexibilität des Baums lässt eine freie Bewegung sowie den Aufbau von Schulter und Rückenmuskulatur zu.
